A message to Valve and the CS Community, PVP community

Subject:

Urgent Call for a Digital ID System to End Cheating and Protect Competitive Integrity

Dear Valve and fellow Counter-Strike community, PVP community,

I write to you not just as a passionate player but as someone who has dedicated over 26 years to this game, invested countless hours honing my skills, and fought countless battles against both enemies and cheaters.

I represent a large group of players who love Counter-Strike, but are deeply frustrated with the unchecked rise of cheating & Ai that threatens to destroy the integrity of the game.

The Problem: Cheating Is Out of Control

Cheating in Counter-Strike is no longer a minor nuisance it has become a systemic crisis on a global level:

Cheaters are increasingly sophisticated: AI-driven aim assist, wallhacks,Radar hacks, antiaim hacks, kernel-level cloaking, and other cheating attempts.

Most cheaters originate from specific regions but are protected by loose enforcement and anonymity.

Repeat offenders/cheaters simply create new accounts and continue ruining games.

The problem is escalating faster than anti-cheat systems can detect and ban them.

Why Current Measures Are Failing

Valve’s current systems (VAC, Overwatch, trust factor) are necessary but insufficient:

They primarily target accounts, not individuals.

Unregistered accounts and VPNs allow cheaters to evade bans easily.

No real-world identity verification means no long-term consequences for repeat offenders.

The competitive ecosystem, where the stakes are highest, is most affected.

My Solution: A Digital ID System from NETS.DK, Tied to Steam Accounts

I propose implementing a Digital ID verification system that ties real-world identity to Steam accounts used in all online play, the same used in the banking world.

Here’s why this is the only sustainable way forward:

Real Accountability
Linking accounts to a verified Digital ID means cheaters cannot endlessly create new accounts to bypass bans. Consequences become personal and long-lasting.

Preserve Offline Play Freedom
This system would apply to all online modes - ranked, casual, and tournament — to ensure a fair and cheat-free environment.
Only offline play & privat community servers would remain completely free and unrestricted.

Enhanced Fairness and Trust
Players invest years building their reputation & skills.
Digital ID ensures that reputation & skills cannot be cheaply reset or cheated with by dishonest players.

Phased and Opt-In Approach
Introduce it first as an enforced feature for competitive players who want to play in a trusted environment, expanding over time, and enforce it to the rest of the game modes.

Respect Privacy and Security
Digital ID data is securely handled and used solely for verification and ban enforcement, respecting user privacy, because no private data is given to Valve other than the number or name the citizen create at their goverment.

Why Now?

Cheating technology is advancing rapidly, so if Valve delays action, it will soon be impossible to detect and enforce bans effectively.
This is not a future problem, it is a crisis we must solve today & right now.

What Valve Can Do Next ?

Begin work with the loyal anticheating community on Digital ID implementation and tell them that Valve will enforce it now.

Develop partnerships with trusted third-party Digital ID providers like NETS.DK.

Pilot the system in select regions or competitive ladders.

Invest in better behavioral AI cheat detection integrated with Digital ID bans to avoid returning of cheaters and cheat developers.

Commit to transparent enforcement and regular updates.

To the Community

I urge my fellow players and content creators to raise their voices.

Demand integrity.

We are the guardians of the game legacy we love.
The future of Counter-Strike depends on what we do now.

This message is a plea and a roadmap - from one veteran to Valve and every player who refuses to accept cheating as the norm in our games.

We want to fight and win by skill, not by hacks.
We want to leave a legacy of honor, not frustration.
Let’s build the future of Counter-Strike & any other pvp game, together.

Respectfully,
M-A-X-E

Valve will never go this route. It would ruin their image as a game with the biggest playerbase. They are now way too deep into cheaters support and scam, they cant go clean ever again.

Scam skin sites rule this space now. Sadly, unless government looks into this, there is nothing going to happen.

As long as there is competitive pvp, there will be cheaters.

Just don't play competitive garbo.

ID?

Dude. Valve don't want to go anywhere close to opening that can of worms.

Even less so over an issue like cheating in videogames. If you think cheating in a videogame is bad. Wait until you got your identity stolen because whatever corpo you'd gladly give it to because "cheaters" get their database hacked.

Real life ID to protect players against cheaters? Talk about nuking a fly. It sure work but that an absurb overkill move over cheating in a videogame.

You do you. But, the day they start asking for real life IDs is the day I stop playing. My personnal informations are worth more in my eyes than your need for a fair match.

And that's assuming you are not like that other guy who hallucinate cheaters everywhere because he can't fathom the idea that he's as good as he thinks he is.

Are we going to do the same topic again?

You've been harping down this path for years.

And here on the main forums, for some reason.

what?

you can't hire anonymous people and take their social security and pay them a wage when a business has to pay taxes.

I think you've watched to many public videos of affiliates and marketers who haven't mentioned to you the facts properly. You assumed too much. please don't think you could put a CPU together with your hands and running it. I don't think you can get human rights to safety and security if you'd risk the lives of others and use things you made outside of a controlled environment.

Wait...isn't this the perpetual silver guy who claims he's one of the best in the world..?

i am pretty sure this is like their 20th thread on presenting a hundred forms of paperwork just to play a video game.

I dont think you get the idea behind digital id ?

Let me explain

Digital id is not your social security number, it is a digital number or letters bound to your social security number by the goverment, so you have a personal id you can use on the internet to do business, banking, trading, buy/sell and more online ...

The digital id cannot be used by the company to identify you as a person, only the bank, goverment and other places that demands personal SSN would know, like the police station and such..

But as a citizen then there is no chance for you to identify the person behind a digital id unless that person told you ...

Valve and other companys can use this sort of protection, to make sure that they are not scammed by an Ai or hackers ...

Valve can even use it to protect this platform against cheating players and cheat developers and other unwanted individuals ...

The backside is that this type of protection with digital id, is that it is so powerful that we need some sort of safety net to avoid being locked out for life for small stuff, like breaking with the forum rules and stuff like that ...

People should be allowed to be humans and make mistakes, that is human to do so, because we got feelings and emotions that can turn things alittle to hot sometimes ..

But if you ask me about this, then I am 100% sure that digital id is part of the solution, together with a anticheat system that punish instantly.

We just need to make sure that Vac-team is ready to make sure that false positivs, and then we need to remove that trustfactor/behavior system from the anticheat solution, let people be human and let them solve it themself, but atleast let them have the option to mute a player/steam user that goes out of control :steamsunny:

I hope that helps to you understand what digital id is ?
if not, then you can read about it on NETS.Dk

By the way -> Dont set question marks about Me in FPS games, if you are in any doubt about who I am, then you can click the link on my profile to watch my performance on Vertigo.

Here we can observe a "career Counter-Strike player" in its natural habitat. By this age they move to what is called shilling, otherwise known as a sell-out behavior. Some of them never had any integrity from birth, but others inevitably adopt this behavior later, when their reflexes get slower and they can no longer compete against younger males. We can also notice the traces of their tribal instinct. Hear that scream?

It tries to appeal to the natural xenophobic instinct of its kind. This animals would often ♥♥♥♥ in their own basement and attempt to blame it on a distant tribe. Note how an aging "career Counter-Strike player" also attempts to appeal to the stronger male, requesting personal strong enforcement of another male's dominance. Observe how it wiggles its tail.
