Release of Tarkov...
There is a release of Tarkov on Steam right now and the things that are happening, well...

Tarkov apparently went through a few controversies since the beginning and those are happening right now too.
The Steam launch gathered a lot of it's original playerbase here on Steam.
But the post is about something else rather than about the game itself.

The game as many may know is made by a russian studio and it appeared that the game devs are financing the russian military which as we all know have invaded an independent country more than 3 years ago.

The post is not even about devs deleting every mention of it and not even about them deleting every post that is not positive about the game. I understand that they may want have to not mix politics into the game(it would be twisted after they are mixing themsleves into the politics by those donations) but they remove everything not positive about the game. They removed even my post asking about the story with the change of the content of DLC's .

The post is about what kind of people do we have here with us on Steam.

All posts mentioning the financing of the russian military before getting deleted are commented a lot by people cheering this fact, claiming that it is a pro on itself to buy the game and they will buy more copies then and those persons are giving each other a lot of prizes. A lot.

I don't really understand how someone may support an unprovoked invasion of an independent country where as we all know war crimes are commited and it's happening in Europe in 21st century and it's cheered by so many.

If you don't believe me go and check by yourself on the community hub of Escape From Tarkov.

It's mindblowing that we are in the same place, playing same games together with people like this and they are not ashamed to show it so openly and even being proud of it. Ubelievable

It's crazy, I just went there and those same people are copying all the posts from those threads(threads highligting the financing) to the threads openly supporting the financing of the russian army and by mistake criticising it. Absolute madness

It isn't really that mindblowing. Most gamers are bad people because most people in the world are bad people. The pro Ukraine war Russians are equivalent of the MAGA idiots in the US. They are the majority in the world sadly.

Anyway, thank you OP for giving me another reason not to buy that game (wasn’t planning to buy it anyway-military multiplayer shooters are decidedly NOT one of my genres)-but I’ll literally never knowingly touch a thing that gives Putin’s war a cent.

ETA: Went to the game’s page to “Ignore” it-I had already checked it as ignored. Good.

Don’t kid yourself, far more people align with the moderate/ classical liberal values of politicians like Trump than they do with the far-left extremism that has taken over the other side, it’s why you guys are getting absolutely trounced in most Western nations right now. People have simply had enough of the far-lefts violent nonsense.

As for the war in Ukraine, most people are too busy trying to feed their families and fix their own communities to care about yet another brother war for the bankers. It’s another example of something that only appeals to “we support the current thing” leftists with little else going on in their lives.
