Many Devs wont tolerate disruptions especially if it's observed ill-intentions in their hub. Basically, as usual it comes down to what you say and how you say it as to either following the general rules, or being acted upon by either the Dev, hub mods, or steam mods. There's criticism, then there's things that are not so much criticism as name-calling etc which almost no dev/hub mod will tolerate, and steam mods may make judgement calls if they're the ones handling the reports.

adl has zero power here - thankfully - and is losing power in the usa due to its observable behavior of wrongfully defaming people and spreading lies about people/groups, labeling practically everything as "hate" including anyone calling out the adl's own easily observed behavior patterns. They're operating in the usa on behalf of a hostile foreign country that constantly attacks neighbor nations in attempt to sway people by labeling others as hate/extremists to keep the money train rolling. I like that the first post disagrees with OP and this somehow "proves" anything. If by OP's logic the first post is somehow "hatemongering", then so are their own. Won't likely admit that, though.

While I doubt rational thinking is making any sort of real comeback, I feel the pendulum is indeed starting to swing the other way, much to the dismay of the crowd that had become accustomed to it being in their favor for a while.

I don’t know, OP. I frequently report posts against TOS (all of what you’ve listed is against TOS-I DON”T interact-that’s what bigots of all kinds want-attention and validation) and 99% of the time the posts get taken down and/or the poster gets banned.

valve, like all companies, supports engagement. they do not openly support or disavow any beliefs or causes, because staying neutral is how you retain customers. unfortunately "engagement" is so vague that it more or less allows pretty much anything to be posted to forums and such as long as it is not too openly explicit.

the amount of barely veiled threats of violence and cruelty against LGBTQ+, minorities, women etc that i have seen on steam forums is nothing short of shocking. of course if you report those comments they are banned, sometimes. it depends how explicit they were in their wording. but the bans are never permanent and they just make alts anyway, so it does nothing. and then folk wonder why steam is being investigated for "radicalisation of users", it is not surprising to me at all.

users can unfortunately get away with A LOT by being vague and only using implications.

The ADL seems to promote more hatred and division than anything I’ve ever seen on the steam forums, it’s not exactly a great reference for whatever point you are trying to make.
