There's alot of negativity in the world, but ultimately that makes those happy moments even more worth it.
Even if you might think it's futile, that small gesture of trying to make someone happy, especially in hard times, might mean more than you might realize to that person.
If 'spreading happiness' is donating money then utterly futile.
Although there are some exceptions where we can create more than a zero-sum outcome. For instance, when an artist paints a picture and shares their inspiration, the overall happiness increases, or when people share a mutual feeling of support and care.
Happiness comes from small things, it's enemy is pettiness. A world where pettiness is not encouraged, is one where the goal of happiness is much more doable/sustainable.
