eldritch truths only drive one mad if they know them and witness them first hand. believing that antediluvian ancient ones exist is not enough to turn me into a formless mass of shapeshifting tentacles and eyeballs

Knowing is half the battle!

Both are equally dangerous and important.

Believing. If I believe I can survive falling 30,000 feet in concrete ground then I’ll probably be dead.

What if you "know" you will survive it?

Even if I did I’ll be eating through a straw all of my life.

Edit: Just because you could doesn’t mean you should.

To answer your question directly: the most dangerous people are the foolish ones.
"The fundamental cause of trouble in the world is that the stupid are cocksure while the intelligent are full of doubt".
I know that I know nothing. Absolute certainty in one’s own rightness eliminates any room for self-doubt, and in both extremes this can foster intolerance or even violence. In practice, what people call “knowledge” is often nothing more than a deeply held belief. An amateur doctor, overly confident in their abilities, may prescribe the wrong treatment. A patient who "knows" that the treatment is useless may lose hope and give up, and so on.

Believe is just… well believe. Danger is real.

Knowing is a quantitative judgment, believing is qualitative. You can reason with data, but you can't reason with crazy people.

ADDENDUM: The only thing I know for sure is that I know nothing at all.

Believing in a god that wants you to murder anyone he commands you to, is always a disgusting, frightening, and disturbing thing to witness.

I believe in God, but I know he isnt real because we live in the matrix. God is just an application of doubt/faith to keep you from being your real self. To answer your question, I think believeing is more dangerous than knowing. You can't know that God is real, but you can believe you are smarter than him, which could be a huge problem.
