richard dean anderson (oneill) is 75
michael shanks (daniel jackson) is 54
christopher judge (tealc) is 61
amanda tapping (sam) is 60
don s davis (general hammond) is dead

not sure a sequel to SG1 is the best idea...

same, i adore SG1. its one of my favourite sci fi tv series of all time alongside TNG and firefly. i used to, and still do, have a massive crush on oneill.

Another one?

I expect that it will be worse than Origins.

i am guessing this one is a direct sequel to SG1, unlike the others like atlantis and universe which were related but spinoffs.
Yeah but it's Amazon making it so... yeah we know it wont be good.
At which point does it carry on from? after SG1 ends, or after Atlantis? (since the city is now back on earth at the end of it)

According to what was said, it is not a reboot, but will stay on the same timeline, so you will get guest stars from the show, and I wouldn't imagine at least one of them will try to have a more permanent role, getting full time jobs as a actor at that age is hard, so why pass up on the opportunity. Not sure how they will handle the cast stuck in a ship going FTL.

We did get Atlantis, didn’t we? A sequel can work fine with new actors.
People should give them a chance...
Honestly, from how you talk, I thought you were a 2000s kid.
I just hope the new show keeps the original spirit and doesn’t drift into something "woke".

the last few seasons of SG1 run parallel to the first few seasons of atlantis, so i am guessing that they will have to make it take place after atlantis because there is simply too much happening at that period. also the cast are much older now, so thats another reason.

IDK some things just can't do without the main people like imagine supernatural without jared padalecki or jensen ackles....

i am a 2000s kid...but what does that have to do with anything? i am not allowed to be liking older media? the majority of things i watch, read and play released before i was even born, and i like it that way.

also i do not want a new cast, the old cast is irreplaceable to me.

aye, agreed. i grew up watching ancient crappy british tv shows, so as i became a kid and teenager i started reading a lot of older books and watching older (but better) tv shows.
