Not what it means "words"
Are there words in your language that have a completely different meaning in another language? In my language there is a word "fart" which means luck, but translated from English...:er_uwu::melblush:

Aside from the whole chips/crisps thing,

"Fanny" in US means buttocks. In UK means ♥♥♥♥.

"Pants" in US means pants. In UK and Japan it means underwear.

Go eat my uncle's Spotted D ick.

Trust me its great. Ask his nephew.

note: the above statement can go very wrong without keen understanding of traditional English

Meh. Just plain ♥♥♥♥ is better than spotted in my opinion.

Fart, in Swedish, means Speed. As in, "He is running at an insane fart."

Also, in Swedish, the translation for End translates to a word that gets censored here on Steam. :P
It's rather annoying that a lot of people think wienerschnitzel means sausages, rather than schnitzel from Wien.

But then, Americans and German food names gets pretty wacky any way you look at it.

this is stupid topic considering everything said is profane in nature.

AND WILL BE CENSORED.

Thanks!

For some reason, a lot of Swedish words have a English version. And most often they are really…censor-able! :P

Some more of them I can write here without lots of hearts are:
English - Swedish
Gift - Married
Gift - Poison
Semester - Vacation
Hot - Threat
By - Village

Oh, and I believe the English word Till is a 1:1 copy from the Swedish word Till. They are used the exact same way. And just so you know, spelling it Til in English (and Swedish) is incorrect.

Go to your discussion about artificial intelligence. And you can make the "nasty" words visible in the settings.

Handy - means mobile phone
Oldtimer - means classic car
Kind - means kid or child
Not - means misery
Angel - means fishing rod
Gift - means poison
♥♥♥♥ - means thick
Fast - means almost
Toll - means great
asocial - means anti-social

That should do it for now. Honorable mention for "eventually". It´s not the same, but "eventuell" means "perhaps" - not as in English that it always is like it.

Apparently it´s the same in Swedish as Walach said, but somehow there it can also mean being married - which is really sick. :o)

Some more...

box - means speaker
bald - means soon
hell - means bright
lager - means warehouse
list - means trick
mist - mean dung
mode - means fashion
herd - means stove
rat - means advice, or council
sense - means scythe
gymnasium - is a form of school

Oh wait - Kindergarten is actually pre-school...

Married and Poison being the same word in Swedish might be saying the quiet part out loud? ;P

Also, how can Angel translate to Fishing Rod?! What language is that? I have to know, it's just such a weird translation…and not at all like the English word Full which means Drunk in Swedish… :I

But it also mean Full in Swedish, as in, "The bus is full," so, again, two different meanings but spelled the same…
