This is 1 of the reasons why music became so terrible over the past 2 decades! Crap that sounds like absolute garbage; is what's considered popular these days! It used to be when an album became Gold or Platinum, it earned it in sales!
It should have NEVER been released to the general public.
AND most of us would be doing much more important and meaningful (more physical) things, than just sitting on our a$$e$ 💩talking about junk & more junk & wasting our health and time on Steam OT, or other toxic media sites.
If you look at things from another point of view, it also opened up opportunities for new bands to get discovered, a new band appears, people like it and share the link to others, suddenly the band has gone from being unknown to very popular. I use the internet to find new, upcoming bands.
Like I said "good & bad".
You also said it ruined music, I disagree. While tastes might have changed over the years, people now have a huge selection of music to choose from.
Rock died because of it! Sure, there are a few good bands & songs here and there, but nothing like the way it was before 2006. After the (indie) band phase, Rock officially DIED!
And don't even get me started with the current pop, rap & country music these days. Absolute Garbage❗ 🤦🏻♀️
Rock is still going strong, it might not appeal to you as it's new and you can't associate any kind of feelings or emotions with it as you can with older music, that doesn't mean it's dead.
I still listen to older bands, I also listen to new bands, some are upcoming and I've never heard of them before, the music might not appeal to me, but I'll give it a listen anyway as it might be something new I enjoy.
My music tastes are varied, that's the beauty of the internet, I can find new bands, listen to older bands, browse soundtracks from games, I can also listen to previews of songs not yet released, all at my fingertips, no waiting for deliveries, hoping the CD or LP isn't scratched when it arrives.
Music is not ruined, it's waiting to be discovered.
I believe it. Our school had the same problem. There were no filters back then.
Thanks alot Hugh Hefner. You ruined peoples' lives❗
That's why I always get triggered when people talk about going to other planets to colonize.
"Why? So you can mess them up like you did this 1!?"
The Internet is definitely a prime example.
