That was definitely money wasted. lol, lmao.
Also "someone" was the right wing party. But in this case the request isn´t even that bad, because certain individuals get 100k Euros per year for this stuff - on top of their salary. But the request was also about photographers, hair stylists, and other services - independent of the gender. And the number here is only the highest for the requested period.
I´m personally unsure if these people need extra people to care for their looks - paid by tax money, when they earn enough to pay it from their salary, which is also tax money.
Also she doesn´t look like 20k professional cosmetics.
And the number and text there is misleading. The actual text in the original document says
"Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Energie:
Zeiträume der Auftragserteilung bzw. Inanspruchnahme: 6. Mai bis 4. August
2025
Gesamtausgaben: 19 264,76 Euro (davon Reisekosten 8 324,11 Euro; reine
Dienstleistungskosten 10 940,65 Euro); Haushaltsstelle: 0911 545 01"
But that´s only a small part:

And after that every woman looks good i suppose. Also cheaper than the make up artist.
I guess that´s what You wanted to say. More elegant would be "Der Blick in den Spiegel ist jetzt vielleicht angenehmer." Like, You wouldn´t describe the image in the mirror, but the action to look into it.
If you look at Donald Trump, Emmanuel Macron, and many others, for example, it seems likely that their makeup artists have similarly high budgets.
Good looks are associated with greater credibility. That's the basic idea. Whether this is actually the case is debatable. In any case, it's not a positive development.
People should listen more closely to speeches and, above all, pay attention to actions. But that is becoming increasingly difficult in the media. Politicians today are increasingly actors.
