The more worrisome scenario would be the total obsolesence of humanity. Not just in the economy and job market (though that would be devastating as well), but in science and arts, making human existence itself as pointless as that of any other animal.
I think the likelihood of that happening in the foreseeable future is lower than we've been led to believe, but I am still hoping that we as a species begin imposing regulation on AI so that our destiny is not stolen by clankers.
Every blocked account is considered a friend list. Something will get that list and begin to emulate those on the list and those who tried to explain it wasn't them will end up techno-banned braceleted and bring about the end where everyone actually wants one.
Read illuminate pollination, just to be clear if computers create that type of effect through lighting and overwhelm tendril itself.
But they could have things behind locked doors we cant even dream of. It wouldnt surprise me....
If your goal is to enslave a sentient being/beings. I imagine its not going to work out to well...
