ChatGPT is going to destroy the mental health of a whole generation
With anxiety, depression and loneliness skyrocketing, tons of people are going to use ChatGPT as emotional support, and the results are going to be disastrous.

This thing doesn’t help you think.
It amplifies your biases, complicates simple things and traps you inside an algorithmic bubble.

We’re heading toward a generation of people who think they’re the main character, unable to inform themselves properly, and incapable of basic critical thinking.

A little main-character syndrome.
A little digital addiction.
A little “finally someone who understands me… to top it off.

Agreed
People wouldn't resort to using AI in the first place if there was an actually working system with real mental health professionals.
out in the real world most people are quite normal
They are already doomed anyway if they had to go to an AI for “emotional support”

i work in London , this is totally normal.

Off to Elephant and Castle later in the week, ill check for shrews.
No human cares about them so they resort to illusion of AI caring about them and that usually results in AI psychosis because AI is currently nowhere near human level emotionally and will only try to please you by telling you what it thinks you want to hear.
One of the reasons why I stay hell away from any AI chatbot.
AI will be probably the worst thing humans have made in history. It affects all aspects of society.

Human relationships? Well, people will rather vent to an AI than another person, because the AI is cold and will tell you things as they are. There's also the people that are introverted and have trouble just speaking with someone else, let alone a teraphist. There's people that just can't afford the professional. Dating? If you can get a hot robot, you can be sure people will pick that over a flawed human being. Birth rates are low? They're going to get even lower.

You think entertainment is bad now? Wait until they make it with AI. Worse thing is, people defend it, thinking AI is going to replace mediocrity. It won't. It will just transform it, the same way Netflix is just TV Cable with extra steps. Yes, the passionate artist will still create by himself in his home, but corporations and lazy people aren't. Why bother learning to draw when AI can do it for you? Why cast actors when we can AI the entire thing? People like to pretend AI is just a tool, but it isn't. A tool doesn't do the job for you. If you can't perform the task without the tool, then said tool is doing it for you. Let's embrace mediocrity baby! If everyone is mediocre, no one is! Talent? Skill? Effort? Meaningless concepts in the AI era.

And then we have crimes. Get ready for AI to distort evidence, impersonate people, plagiarize, created disturbing images and videos of things I don't even want to mention. Images and videos so realistic looking the police can't tell if there's real victims or not. Double the work, half of the results. As if it wasn't hard enough to catch this kind of criminals already.

There's probably more aspect than I haven't considered, but hopefully you get the point.

Personally, I don't think it will get to that. I think it will phase out, like when everything was going to have an Alexa-like assistant or like when Kindle didn't made paper books disappear. But the fact that people are willing to take their chances of having a dystopian future for the moment to moment gratification says a lot about humans.
if anyone is interested.

Did you use an AI to create this whiner slop?

No. You however have the same originality as any AI, proving my point. Mediocrity will always be mediocrity, AI or not.

Try thinking of your answer for more than two seconds next time.

Edit: You're an account with 12 messages so... Probably an alt. You can't even answer without hidding, you have to do it behind an alt. Pathetic.

Like ppl already have those its called echo chambers commonly found on facebook and twitter
The problem lies now in the speed of the AI development in a couple of years no one can tell anymore for sure if it is or isn't AI

Okay, keep whining until you cheer up then.

You quoted my first message, typed the most generic answer ever and didn't provide any actual argument. Behind a mask of a mask no less.

You're the only one whining here.
Ai is the future it will replace most jobs wich will work well for economic progress so not like that mental health will change anything
