I don’t know… I’m too used to One Piece to switch to the manga now, but I don’t think I’ll read it either.
I’m too disappointed with Luffy. I can’t stand him anymore, and honestly the same goes for the entire crew.
The only character I’ve ever liked in this series is Enel.
Maybe I’ll just wait for the story to finally end, then read the part where Enel comes down from the moon, destroys Imu and fixes the whole plot.
He’s the only genuinely good character in One Piece, at least in my opinion.
why did you still continue watching hundreds of episodes later then? enel never becomes relevant again after skypiea. and not liking a single character out of hundred and hundreds of characters across hundreds of episodes and dozens of arcs is kind of crazy.
sounds like a you thing more than a one piece thing.
It was watchable before, but after the time skip it became unwatchable.
I kept watching out of habit, like an old lady sticking to her soap opera out of routine.
I even had a whole ritual, lemon pie every Tuesday during the episode but now it’s just awful.
And about Enel: you’re acting like you “knew” he’d never come back.
Nobody knew anything at the time, so spare me the hindsight wisdom.
Your take is lazy, that’s all.
Holy crap I looked it up on wikipedia and it actually does have more than a thousand episodes, and supposedly each episode is a half hour long.
1148x30= 34,440 minutes = 574 hours = 24 days = 3 and a half weeks.
Not as much time as I had expected to be honest.
Yeah, yeah, I was watching it on TV when it first came out. When you stick with a show for that long, you get a bit attached, but you’re right, it’s basically fast-food entertainment.
And honestly, the whole Haki retcon killed the logic of the story.
Shanks losing his arm to a level-1 sea monster already showed Oda had no long-term plan.
Haki made Logias pointless, which is a shame because things like Luffy beating Crocodile with water were actually smart.
I still remember hardcore fans back then screaming “Luffy doesn’t need power-ups, it’s consistent, he has to THINK!”
Yeah. Now we’re at full DBZ mode.
Enemy too strong? Transformation.
Then another transformation.
Then the friendship aura.
No drawbacks, no tension. Even Gear 2 used to have consequences, now it’s just cosmetic.
This show is unbelievably boring now.
Large % of the fandom clearly have a mental illness because no sane people would tolerate that pacing any longer.
