Well, it was also CRAZY advanced for its time. Not only for its multitasking (Workbench). In particular in terms of graphical+sound ability.
As progress was a lot faster than it is nowadays, that edge only lasted a couple years though. And the Amiga only reached the mainstream with the A500, years after the platform's actual launch. Still blew me away when I saw (and heard) this.
