if true Steam Machine should run it at 30FPS (raw) and 60FPS (FSR upscaling +frame gen) , 1080p ,low
Makes a great indi games machine but that depends on price.
Steam's responsibility is on the steam machine verification. Push it hard to devs and make the minimum requirement ie 60fps, no stuttering, controller support non-negotiable.
It's up to the devs on how to achieve the minimum requirement. We've had soul calibur ported to psp for christ sake! they can optimize a game to run on steam machine. They've been lazy for long enough, it's about time game devs start to optimize their games again.
Extra work for the devs to support a device new to the market with low user base, and it's not up to devs it's up to management and publishers, people who front the money ect.
Still though if it plays on Deck it will play on Machine but even better so that's a big selection of games to play, maybe it will have only verified games on the store if they are aiming for the living room.
And there is a possiblity of new AAA games to not become more demanding than what they currently are. Because increasing system requirements=less customers
Also, the new playstation console might just become a handheld version of PS5.
No one believes your claims about your mid-entry level system playing the latest games with RT at a locked 60fps. Every time you post a video trying to “prove” it you never have a performance overlay and the video is clearly not a solid 60fps.
All you do is constantly try to hijack threads to talk about your mediocre system as if it’s an ultra high end system.
streaming from a capable host, yes
Steam Machine will be able to run games of tomorrow. Not all of them of course.
Yeah, 2D pixel art 😂
Of course that's largely just the bloated AAA games, and that whole industry appears to be undergoing a course correction.
I expect a good majority of the games of tomorrow to run, as long as you don't mind turning the settings down. There are those who absolutely bristle at the thought of running any PC game below 4k, ultra settings with RT turned on, and those people won't be happy. Just look at what kind of modern, AAA games you can get up and running on the Steam Deck, and that's only a fraction of the performance.
