not every game works because as technology advances things that are no longer needed in the operating system start to fall into compatibility and eventually may stop working however they can work again when you fix it yourself through more compatibility layers or changes in settings within config files or in cases running a older operating system
all the games work at some point developers maintain them till their contract ends this is the part that is out of steams control they are just a store front they do not have the licensing to work on someone else's game if they would do it then they end up with a lot of legal issues and not just the ones they would be able to shrug off it likely would become the end of steam
valve has its own game studio but they only have the rights to repair what they own anything that they do not own they are not allowed by law to fix
so you are barking at the wrong tree complain to the developers of the games that no longer work
when arm processors start to become a mainstream thing a lot more games will no longer work and because the developers of those games do not likely want to spend money into it because their contract is filled you are dependent on the community to fix
so i suggest you start checking if the community made a fix or complain to the game developers its like going to a video game store purchasing a game then complaining that it doesn't work on your system because it was made for windows xp and you are trying to run it on windows 11 and now you demand the store to fix it the store is not responsible for your hardware/software
and know that game developers have no obligation to fix the game for you when it is outside their contract time
steam -> library -> select game -> gear -> properties -> controller tab -> enable steam input
steam -> library -> select game -> gear -> manage -> controller input
browse config, select default for the game, or edit layout and chagne its mapping to anything, k/m or controllers
if you need more help ask in steam controller forum

Like, i tried it on old games, on new games, games without controller suport, games with limited controller suport, GOG games, Epic games, emulated games...
All of them work, with some tinkering, but they DO work. Like, for ♥♥♥♥'s sakes, i play Total War games on a steamdeck.
And i'm not a Valve defender, steam machine is a joke and steam frame lacks even a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wired connection option, but how about we criticise them for their actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, not made up ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
You're the one making crap up kid. With Steam imput you can literally map controls for any game. Please look these things up before posting.
I didnt get a steam machine or controler when they released them for the first time in 2013 and i have no reaons to get them now. I will continue upgrading the pc when it gets old or when a component burns.
Also mine pc is already more powerful than steam machine, xbox series x, and playstation 5 because it is RYZEN 7 1700 RX 6700XT 12 GB RED DEVIL 16 GB DDR4 3200MHZCL15 MP 600 2TB WRITE:4950MB/S READ:4250MB/S DELLP2416D 24'' 2560X1440 60 HZ IPS
The next upgrade will be cpu ram and motherboard in few motnhs when zen 6 releases
Your CPU is weaker than all of those by quite a bit.
The Ryzen 7 3700X is the desktop CPU closest to the PS5/SeriesX, smokes yours.
Now your GPU is about on par with consoles closest to SeriesX.
So if we sum up the performance of your PC it's the same as a SeriesX but with a weaker CPU.
Few months? They are about a year away, late 26 or early 27.
Specs never matter anyway, if you're happy playing the games you play then it's fine.
