If you want to use Linux look into Mint or CachyOS.
Mint if you're new to Linux.
CachyOS if you're new to Linux and brave.
Bazzite Linux is the closest to SteamOS but with Nvidia support.
I would recommend getting a USB, put Ventoy on it and copy some ISOs of distros with live modes on it to test the waters a little and see what suits you best. At their core most are either of the five main distros (Debian/Ubuntu, Arch, Fedora/RHEL, Gentoo or Slackware) and it's all Linux at the end of the day. Probably start with something Ubuntu-based for starters though.
Also best to use a separate non-Ventoy USB for actual installation after thorough testing and making backups. Lots of distros don't like being installed from a Ventoy USB.
And of course always make secure backups first.
