Library suggestion - Newly purchased games go to favourite automatically
I've got a fairly bulky list of steam games now and when I purchase a new one I have to scroll through the library and move it up to favourites... its not terrible if I just grab one at a time, but if I grab 2, 3, or more just remembering the names to move them up becomes a mild burden.

Would be ideal if you had a setting that new games go to a favourite category or a 'new' tab one

Not sure if this is an option, I poked a bit but couldn't find it

Big picture mode does suggest games you have not played yet, so that is a thing, otherwise there is sort by recent

You can filter your games list by recent activity. Just click on the little clock icon next to the search bar and it will show you games you played recently and what you've added recently.

No thank you. I use my favorites as a "currently playing" categorie.

Newly purchased games for me are in the "uncategorised" section. If I have a game there, it means something new.

I just set my main library shelf to sort by date added to the library. That way the new stuff is automatically at the top anyway.
