Add other age verification other than Credit Card for UK users please

If you're in the UK, can't (or don't want to) get a Credit Card for age verification, the only option we currently have is to let Steam know we would like alternative methods to verify ID other than Credit Cards.

Log a ticket to Steam Support requesting they add alternative methods to verify age via other forms of ID than a Credit Card only.
(anything with a confirmed date of birth on that majority of all other services and websites accept as proof of ID).

You can log a ticket by going to
Support > My Account > Data Related to Your Steam Account > Scroll all the way to the bottom > Contact Steam Support.

Make a topic in the suggestions / ideas forum requesting it too, saying the same thing.
Get all UK users you can who are affected by it to do so too.

Hopefully with enough requests Valve/Steam will consider implementing the ability to do so.

Bombarding Support with tickets is not going to convince Valve to offer an additional option. No one on the Support team has any authority over what options are made available. You'd just be harassing a group of people over something that they have no control over. It's only going to delay everyone else with help that they need.

You should be soliciting responses to your government to lift the restriction.

Credit cards are the best option for Valve because they involve no PII as they can only be given to adults.

Valve will not risk a data breach of PII and official citizen information the level it happened to Discord recently[discord.com].

I wouldn't hold your breath. If CC's weren't an option under the UK law, you should expect to end up like the Germans, all users age restricted, no option for age verification. Valve just isn't interested in the hassle and apparently don't think it's worth their time. And restricting everyone puts them in compliance with the law.

Granted neither option is preferable to users who don't have a CC, but that's the way it is. And in that case your option is to buy adult games from stores that are willing to do your preferred age verification.

Don't forget, Valve made an informed decision. They made the decision they want. Users harassing them over it isn't going to change it. It may get your support privileges restricted if you become enough of a problem though, so beware.

Ofcom said it's up to Steam what method of verification they choose.

Steam support suggested make a topic in the Suggestions/Ideas thread concerning this issue.
