With Steam now doing clever things such as Proton and Controller mapping to interact with games to improve their functionality.

It would be nice if the next item on the list was for Steam to detect wide screen and automatically apply something like Widescreen Fixer (or their own version) to games that are not entirely widescreen compatible.
