telemetry and privacy - it would be possible to track you with it (secure boot and TPM both are used for tracking already),
exclusivity - you would need compatible software and hardware; older PC's, different vendors, etc. would be straight denied (just like with TPM, or even worse),
compatibility - you wouldn't be able to install a different OS on the device unless it supports the hardware,
reselling - you couldn't resell your device if you were banned (you could, but it will not work for MP),
usability - client side anti cheats don't work,
reliability - false positive would mean your device is borked forever for no reason,
comfort and value - the majority of gamers don't play multiplayer games or prefer single player games,
and so, so many other reasons that I am too tired to list right now.
You are not the target audience for a steam machine in 2025/2026.
It's like how hand soap kills 99.9% of germs. It's not gonna guaranteed stop you from getting sick, but it's gonna help a lot.
And what Valve need to do, to stop cheaters from being able to return to the game again, is force digital id from NETS, because then you wont be able to cheat in the game more than once.
So I hope Valve will consider this and take the needed actions ?
