Sometimes I don't buy games bc of the Hard AF Achievments list ( PayDay 2 with 1000 + Achievs as a example ).
I just wish to stop it. But without the option to hide it its rly hard to do that u know...
The idea is awesome tbh. But let's be honest its way too "hardcore" for them to implement sadly. And you know some achievments are server based etc. and as far im aware nobody can change them.
Just simple option like " Hide whole achievment part of the games " would be awesome for start! :)
Now that Steam is this big on PC marked it's about time to get the option to disable/hide achievements finally.
I think there really is no difference, expect hiding it would make it possible to still earn them in the background in case the user decides to display them again. Also it would still keep the global achievement stats in balance.
The achievements likely generate online community engagement. It caters to a certain audience.
Try offline mode.
Turn off the achievement pop-up.
Don't look at your own profile.
The system on steam doesen't even work because there is no general quality control which leads to a lot of broken achievements, also there are homepages where people just can unlock the achievements.
Also as seen right here, some people just get annoyed by the sole existence of those achievements which could potentially cause them to go to other stores or buy retail instead.
But if you connect to the internet it downloads those files again, and the images reappear.
You will still get achievements. Even in offline mode. And they show up in your library.
