more realistic requirements
i have played a lot of games on specs way below listed minimum. both in terms of software and in terms of hardware. that basically makes requirements look like a joke. they should make the requirements more realistic. not that i know exactly how they should do that.

The requirements they show are nothing more than an estimated minimum/recommend.

They cannot give exact specs as if those specs are wrong, they can get in trouble for false advertisement.

System requirements are nothing more than text fields any developer can write in. Do you want to make this requirements more realistic?

that goes both ways. certain games does not even run on minimum requirements. i have several games whose requirements say windows 7 but, i install them and they do not work in windows 7.
i also have a game that says windows 10 as minimum but, i tried it and it did not work in windows 10. i tried running it in windows 7 and there it worked. scribble space seems like an interesting game. back on topic: for some games i need a system below minimum requirements for the game to even run. that is specially true for operating system. the tales games all runs in windows 7 even though some lists higher operating systems as their requirements. they also runs in windows 8.1. tales of arise does not support nvidia optimus however and will therefore not run on laptop nvidia gpus. have to disable it or the game crash. i did find malware in a few games, like quad hopping.

The requirements are accurate, just not in the way you assume.

1. What does the developer think will supply the intended experience.

2. What hardware does the developer want to support?

So yeah you can run a game on specs below the minimum, but if you have any issue with your off-spec system the developer can point at the minimum requirements, and that's that.

And frankly you wouldn't be happier if the minimum requirements just barely run the game. And what is more realistic? Specs that run the game at lowest settings? 540p? 15FPS?

Where's the floor? Kinda subjective. So why is the developer's opinion wrong? How can it be? Maybe the problem is assuming the minimum requirements should be different than what they actually are.

For you? Or for everyone? There is a difference.

Seems kinda like issues and false positives that you have you see as authoritative, objective and universal. I would bet if you started naming specific games for each issue you claim, the experience you have isn't as universal as you assume.

nice find.

Requirements have almost never been accurate or followed a standard.

The closest you might get is if it specifies something like "Won't run without this specific instruction set or Direct X version".

It doesn't help that expectations change over time. Some of us had systems that were 10% better than what the game asks for but they ran at below 20 FPS on minimum settings anyway.. We didn't care then.
