can you link game data on two drives
so I just have a quick question to clarify how having the same game on two drives work. if I make a copy for my steam library from my home drive to my usb. when i disconnect home drive and play/save on the usb, will the changes to on the usb be saved on the cloud and transfer onto my home drive when i play the same game, or will it be treated as two separate copies.

basically, i don't want to bring my 4tb drive with me everywhere i go and don't want move the game to my usb because I don't have enough usb ports to plug both my homedrive and usb to use my whole library.

So this depends on game, and how it works, if the game make it save files in your doc folder, then you have two choices, either make backup, and replace whenever go from one PC to the next, OR you can let Steam cloud do the work as long you have Steam running, online, and cloud sync enable.

Now if for some reason Steam cloud didn't download, just go to steam cloud on account, and download, then place where need to be, or could try disable, and enable cloud save for the game see it trigger download of save file.
