I have an older desktop that is starting to fall behind a amd 5 core w/2070 super and i have a new job that allows me to game on a laptop. I was planning on upgrading the desktop, building a nas with the left overs, and buy a laptop. however, i don't know if the ball park of 3k is justified when i could invest half in stocks. I see the amd x3d has great cache capabilites and the 50 series is king.

So my question to everyone is, should i make the leap or stay conservative? buy a mid range laptop to casually game at work, buy the respectable pieces for the desktop and nas? Do i just buy a laptop and be content with it? Thoughts?
