same issue with me except it also applies to most other game launchers (EA, battle.net, etc) i can't use my card at all. steam just resets and the others decline the purchase (card can't be verified, transaction cannot be completed, no specific error) nothing wrong with my card, works on browsers, irl and bank confirms everything is dandy on their end.

honestly my guess is the payment processor framework is wack right now across launchers, but i've been having issues since the 16th, i don't know if it's related to the cloudflare incident, but i don't think it's our pcs because i purchased things a week ago on the same pc without changing anything.

at this point all we can do is wait it out i think, you're not alone though tons of people are having this issue. workaround right now is paypal, purchasing on the website directly or on the phone app. pretty gay indeed

We dont have PayPal in New Zealand and the last thing anyone needs is another bloody app on their phone they are only ever going to use once.

you're welcome! tbh though i'm just guessing as to why it's wonky, i honestly have no clue why it suddenly started doing this, but it's very unlikely it's our fault or our hardware's fault as there was no issue last week and i've tried every fix for it with no luck

as for the cloudflare incident, basically about half of the internet was down and unstable today thanks to cloudflare, an internet service, experiencing issues and errors, it went on for a lot of hours lol. i'm not sure if it has any connection to this steam issue but i started having problems with launcher purchases two days ago, it's only when i try a direct bank purchase, any other payment method works

sorry to hear that there's no current workaround for ya, let's hope it settles itself ;-;
