SO NO you can not have GOG or steam, or whatever other online client as default's.
to have such require each game use own location or game devs split configuration or saves.
they will not do this.
ps.
and yes we read yoy did all the rigth things.so either you have other system issue with them games.
gl with interference issue or other things that cause this steam has a section with faulth finding.
