There is stuff going on when a game let alone 2 games are loading stuff like accessing the HDD check them for updates etc so adding a request to also Alt Tab them down may be breaking the loading sequence and the HDD is not accessable until the loading sequence completes.
Unusual that you expect it with 2 games opening.

but the thing is I used to be able to play it, but now I can't
