i bought the same controller with its own 2.4ghz dongle just yesterday, and it got detected by steam as xbox controller for some reason but you can tick the 'use nintendo switch buttons' or something so the x, y, a, and b, are not inverted. you can also use xinput software. just follow tutorials on youtube how to set it up.

How did you connect the controller to the dongle? I can't seem to pair mine
