What's New shelf in Library has gone missing
Is there a way to turn the What's New shelf back on? Sometime today it got removed from my Library randomly. I occasionally it found it useful, and I'd like to have it back.

I've tried going back and forth between the beta Steam client. There's no option in Steam settings to turn it on. There is no option when adding a new shelf in the Library to make it a What's New shelf (or anything else news related).

Has this happened to anyone else? I wonder if Steam just removed it completely since a lot of people didn't like the What's New shelf.

I think you just need to wait till a new update comes for any of your games. Maybe not too long.
Beta version may not have it so swapping back forth may have temporarily moved it.
Try exiting Steam in normal steam client using the Steam top left exit. Restart it.
You can always look at the community news highlight game then look under the Artwork. Community Hub.

only time it disappear for me is when I rightclick the last bit of new and say remove the update. It'll disappear and only reappear when their is a new update for something.

Thank you for the replies. It's been almost a week, and there have been several big updates on some of my games, but the What's New shelf still hasn't returned. I never did remove any updates on it before (I didn't even know that was an option).

Are there any other ideas on how to get it back? The only other solution I can think of is uninstalling and reinstalling Steam.

Its one of the things that will come back if you want or not.

Note: Uninstalling steam removes everything(!) around the steam exe file.

I came across the same problem today. Seems that there is no solution. Did it come back to your library after some time? I certainly hope so...

Even after uninstalling/reinstalling, it didn't immediately come back for me. It came back seemingly randomly a few weeks later.

Yeah, it's odd as mine has been there the entire time.

Maybe connected to the recent issues with emoticons and a few others things?

In any case, unless definitive evidence comes through all we can do is wait.

I had this issue and was able to fix it by going to Steam settings and deleting the web browser cache & cookies, then restarting Steam
