What is the one game genre you refuse to play/buy?

What is the one game genre you refuse to play? Whether it be because you find it boring, too tedious, easy/difficult, etc.

For me, it would be sports games without a moment's hesitation. I couldn't imagine buying a $700 console or gaming PC worth over $1k just to play yearly releases of some goofy, kid's yard games. I'd unironically rather buy Barbie match 3 tile games over that garbage. For reasons that will forever allude me, it seems that stupid crap is interesting enough to keep console casuals coming back.

I guess a distant second would be walking simulators even though I do like a few of them like the first season of Life is Trash, The Walking Dead, and What Remains of Edith Finch. If walking sims have boring stories, then they become essentially wasted hard drive/SSD space because they don't have meaningful gameplay to make up for a bad story unlike games like Borderlands past 2 for example where the fun combat is good enough to ignore the terrible writing. Walking sims can be engaging, but I just tend to gravitate towards games that have both good combat and writing.

Btw, I would say my favorite genres in order from most to least would be:

Isometric RPG's
Turn-based JRPG's
Dungeon crawlers
Action games (not Soulslikes but more DMC/Bayonetta type games)
First person shooters

I'm curious to hear about people's least favorite genre. Feel free to list your favorites as well.

I don't do sports games like football, tennis, basketball, track and field, etc, but I love some good racing games.

Even though I have a couple, MMO’s.

I gave a couple of them a shot but it just reconfirmed they aren’t for me.

I used to play RuneScape and other mmos but they stopped being fun.

Sports, visual novels, 99% of racing games, and walking simulators.

Edit: I guess most multiplayer games don't do it for me anymore either. I enjoy a good single player or co-op game any day.

Woke garbage and games with AI are mostly what I try to avoid. I do think RTS games are interesting but they are just too much for me and so I avoid them too. Also anything with anime is cringe and I avoid that too.

No to little interest in:
MOBAs-all of them.
Competitive PVP games (and wannabe comp games like DBD)-again, all of them.
ANY paid games with paid lootboxes/gacha mechanics. Just…NO.
ANY paid game with a noticeable amount of AI usage.
With the exception of the occasional racing/tennis game-sports games.
With the exception of the occasional outlier-FPS games.
Most live-service games that aren’t MMORPGs. Particularly the paid ones. Even more particularly the paid ones that also have paid battle passes/other microtransactions.

As for my favorite genres, they’re already listed in my profile.

There is only one genre I actively avoid, anything with puzzles. I play mostly FPS so I enjoy killing things or blowing things up, add in a puzzle to that genre and I take an instant dislike to it. Looking at you Fallout 4 Far Harbor DLC! Keep your puzzles out of my games!
